Comprehensive online resource devoted to music research of all the world’s peoples. Contains the full text of the 10 volume print encyclopedia. Each volume contains an overview of a region, a survey of its musical heritage, traditions and themes; and a description of specific musical genres, practices, and performances. Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries

This database presents more than 35,000 individual tracks of streaming audio, and includes the published recordings owned by the nonprofit Smithsonian Folkways Recordings label and the archival audio collections of the legendary Folkways Records and other labels. Featured music includes American Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Old Time Country, American Indian, World, Jazz, Classical and Broadway, Children’s songs, and spoken word and sounds.

RILM is a comprehensive music bibliography featuring citations, abstracts, and indexes. Publications originate from 151 countries and are in 214 languages.
