Physical Education Index (ProQuest)

Records are indexed and classified from peer-reviewed journals, report literature, conference proceedings, trade magazines, patents, articles from the popular press, and many other publications. The abstracts feature a wide variety of content, ranging from physical education curricula, to sports medicine, to dance. Other coverage includes sport law, kinesiology, motor learning, recreation, standardized fitness tests, sports equipment, business and marketing, coaching and training, and sport sociology/psychology. Health education and physical therapy are also covered.

This multidisciplinary resource provides access to full-text, academic journals covering the major areas of academic research. It contains more than 13,600 indexed and abstracted journals and full-text for over 4,700 journals.

OmniFile Full Text Mega (Wilson/EBSCO)

This multidisciplinary database covers core academic subjects. It contains full text of articles from over 3,100 publications (many of them peer-reviewed), dating back to 1994 and indexing and abstracts from nearly 5,100 publications back to 1982. (This includes Education Full Text with full-text articles from over 350 education journals.)

CINAHL (EBSCO)

This Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) provides indexing of the top nursing and allied health literature with a wide range of topics including nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health, and 17 allied health disciplines. Indexing is available for more than 3,075 journals dating back to 1981.

PubMed

The National Library of Medicine’s database comprises more than 22 million citations and abstracts for biomedical Literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites.

This abstracting and indexing database is devoted to peer-reviewed literature in the behavioral sciences and mental health. Content, selected by the American Psychological Association (APA), includes more than 3.4 million records for peer-reviewed journals, books, and dissertations. It features a tests and measures field to help locate specific tests.

ERIC (EBSCO)

The Education Resource Information Center (ERIC) provides access to scholarly educational literature and to ERIC Documents. This resource from the U.S. Dept. of Education contains over 1.4 million records for article citations and abstracts from education journals, together with links to many thousands of full-text documents (books, papers, reports, and more) from ERIC back to 1966. ERIC actively indexes more than 1,100 journals (90% peer-reviewed).
