Academic Search Premier (EBSCOhost)

Provides citations and abstracts to over 4,000 journals covering most academic areas of study including biological sciences, economics, communications, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences, and women’s studies. Approximately two-thirds of the articles are available as full text. Also contains images which can be accessed by clicking on the “image collections” icon.

Historical New York Times

Provides full text access to the New York Times up to three years ago. Historical New York Times provides information on a wide variety of topics including national and international news, biographies, social and economic issues, the arts, literature, music, the sciences, business, and much more. The database may be searched by author, dates, keywords, and title. Editorials, reviews, obituaries, photos, illustrations, and ads are included. Individual articles or the whole page may be viewed.

JSTOR

A full text, full image archive of over 120 journals. Coverage of journals generally begins with their first volume and is updated to within three years of the current issue. Allows keyword searching of the full text of all articles, as well as browsing of particular journal issues. Subject strengths are African-American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics/finance, general science, history, literature, math/statistics, philosophy, political science, population/demography, and sociology.

Provides biographies of people from a wide range of fields and over all periods of history. Material drawn from biographical dictionaries and other reference sources is available full text. There are also citations to books and articles by and about the person. Some of the articles may be full text. More than 32,000 images are included. Database may be searched by name, profession, gender, and ethnic background.n.

Books In Print

Provides bibliographic information for English language books currently in-print, out-of-print and forthcoming books, as well as video and audio recordings. This database also includes reviews for many of the books listed and can be searched by author, title, subject, ISBN number, keyword and publisher.

CQ Press Electronic Library

1) CQ Researcher is a weekly publication that focuses on a specific topic in every issue. Recent topics include: “Straining the Safety Net: Is joblessness overwhelming aid programs?” and “Afghanistan Dilemma: Is President Obama pursuing the right course?” The CQ Researcher archive includes every issue published since the founding in 1923.
2) CQ Global Researcher is a monthly publication founded in 2007. Recent issues include: “Attacking Piracy: Can the growing global threat be stopped?” and “Fixing Capitalism: Will tighter rules prevent another global economic crisis?”
Each report is 25-30 pages long and includes include pro/con discussions about the issue topic as well as numerous color illustrations. Both publications can be searched simultaneously.

Film Literature Index Online 1976-2001

The Film Literature Index (FLI) annually indexes 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries cover-to-cover and 200 other periodicals selectively for articles on film and television. The periodicals range from the scholarly to the popular. More than 2,000 subject headings provide detailed analysis of the articles.

International Financial Statistics

From the Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Financial Statistics (IFS) database contains approximately 32,000 time series data covering more than 200 countries and areas from 1948 to the present. IFS is a standard source of international statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance. It reports, for most countries of the world, data on topics such as exchange rates, international liquidity, money and banking, interest rates, prices, production,international transactions, government accounts, and national accounts.
