The R. Barbara Gitenstein Library considers offers of gifts of suitable library materials, specifically materials that support the curriculum or fill existing gaps in the collection. Potential donors must coordinate in advance with the Interim Director of the Library, or the relevant Subject Librarian. We are unable to accept walk-in donations that have not been reviewed and arranged with a librarian in advance. While gifts to the Library are appreciated, upon donation these items become Library property and the Library reserves the right to retain or dispose of these items as librarians deem appropriate.
The Library generally does not accept textbooks, complimentary desk copies, non-scholarly paperbacks, vinyl records, VHS tapes, or gifts with special conditions attached. Gift materials should be in good physical condition, clean, and unmarked.

Gifts to the TCNJ Library Archives and Special Collections
Potential gifts to the Library Archives are evaluated under a separate policy and are generally limited to materials directly connected to TCNJ and its history, and created by College faculty and/or staff, alumni, and students.
