TCNJ Scholars

TCNJ Scholars provides a place to collect, manage, preserve and facilitate access to the College’s scholarly output.

TCNJ Scholars is designed to provide open access to that work, as broadly as possible, and for as long as possible by serving as a showcase of the intellectual output of TCNJ faculty, staff, and students. This central, open access repository is available for viewing by a wide audience, including potential students and faculty, College partners and funding agencies, and other academic colleagues.

If you have any questions about TCNJ Scholars, contact repository@tcnj.edu or visit http://libguides.tcnj.edu/repository for more information.

Content

Any original scholarly, creative, or professional work is eligible for inclusion in the IR. Contributors (e.g., individual faculty members, department, program) will work with Library staff to discuss types of content they will add to IR collections. Work created while affiliated with another institution also may be included. Examples of possible content are:

  • Published articles
  • Conference presentations
  • Datasets
  • Student works (with faculty/department sponsorship)

Copyright Guidelines

TCNJ Library can assist with checking publisher copyright for published materials. Any other questions concerning the validity and authenticity of the content of your material (including, but not limited to, images, music, data sets, or other accompanying material that is not original work created by the author) cannot be checked by Library staff. Transfers of copyright do not occur through inclusion of your content in the IR. You are only granting TCNJ a non-exclusive license to make your content widely and freely available in an open access repository.

Material Submission

In order to submit work to the repository, users will be required to submit the online Master IR License Agreement and the Submission of Work forms.

Additionally, in order to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), students making submissions to the IR will also be asked to consent to sharing their works publicly by submitting a FERPA consent form.   If you have questions about submitting your work, contact repository@tcnj.edu or visit http://libguides.tcnj.edu/repository/IRPolicy.
